WALX Helvellyn Ullswater were delighted to be quoted in an article in Women's Running Magazine this month. "Do we underestimate the Power of Walking over long distances?" was the subject we were asked to comment on. Indeed our lead guide Nic, used exactly these techniques on a 50 Mile mountain ultra event this last week-end in The Lake District. These tips and techniques are still valid points for all walkers in the hills, and those wishing to gain energy for the body and mind whilst exercising outdoors, where ever you may be! Walking, Running, Nordic Walking... Speed Walking, Mountain Walking or running, Low Level Walking or running... it's all the same, just tailored to your fitness levels, and we can all benefit!
