Weekly Round-Up: Our Drop-In Jobs Fair

Thank you to everyone who turned up to our Jobs Fair. We have had an amazing outcome from the fair: many applicants attended, and we had 12 fantastic employers taking up residence, in addition to 6 Back to Work agencies. We think it was a massive success for all participants, and hope that even those that came to show support for friends and family, left having gained a useful contact or two – or at least some homemade popcorn! 

Believe it or not this is St John’s Staff Hire’s first time planning an event of this nature. Working in partnership with CADAS, we provided a diverse range of employers and organisations offering support for people in work, and aiming to return to work. We hope that everyone had a positive experience.

The support networks attending were:
CADASOaklea Trust, Adult Learning, BBO/CVSRight2Work and Inspira for Life. We would like to thank everyone that attended on behalf of these organisations, and for the invaluable advice they were able to offer on the night!

We feel that we hit the mark in terms of the balance of support agencies versus employers, but it is something we would value your opinion on. What do you think? 

The fair also provided a perfect opportunity for some of us to meet – who, thanks to the pandemic, have been conducting business over the phone and by email, for over a year now. There weren’t many quiet moments to network, but we hope all of our stallholders managed to forge a few useful connections in between addressing the applicants!

We did use the Fair to showcase how we, as an agency, are a bit different to our competitors. This included a display featuring the hampers which staff who have 100% attendance have a chance of winning, courtesy of our very own Kirsty, with proceeds going to the charity, Cancer Research UK, amongst other things.

Hopefully this will not be the last time that St John’s Staff Hire will be coming to a venue near you, so please keep your eyes peeled for our future events! St John’s Staff Hire most definitely have big plans for this coming year.
