Could you be a Trustee for a Charity who support children, young people, families, adults and communities across the North West?
Could you be a member of a Board who make lives better?
Are you looking to use your skills and experience to support the vision of a forward thinking charity?
Come and join our Board of Trustees here at Caritas Care…
We are looking for people who are able to make a commitment to Caritas Care, share our values, devote the necessary time, have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind. We are particularly seeking applications from people with a diverse ethnic background, and also from people who have skills and experience in the following areas:
This is not an exhaustive list, and more information is available in the application pack.
It is important to us that we achieve a balanced membership on our board, so we can represent all sectors of the community with whom we work. We are currently seeking to increase our male representation and members with a diverse ethnic background, both of whom are currently under-represented on our Board.
A little bit about us…
Caritas Care is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee. The Trustees of the charity are also directors of the company. An established and respected social care agency, Caritas Care has provided a range of high quality social welfare projects and services for over 80 years to children and families, people and communities in Lancashire, Cumbria and Greater Manchester. Our work includes Adoption, Foster Care, Learning Disability Services and a range of Community Projects for people of all ages.
Whilst originating from a Roman Catholic background, the charity is now fully independent of the church; however, a Catholic ethos and value base continues to inform its work. Based in Preston, we employ over 200 staff. Our annual turnover is approximately £7m.
At a time of uncertainly for the charitable sector, to help us meet the challenges ahead, we need Trustees who can help direct Caritas Care towards achieving its vision and mission, and to ensure that the Charity is managed effectively.
If you are looking for an exciting and worthwhile way to use your skills and experience effectively, get involved in your community and make a difference, please get in touch!
For an informal discussion about the role of trustee, please contact the Chief Executive, Susan Swarbrick on 01772 732313.
