You are invited to ‘An Audience with an LGBTQ+ Adopter’
LGBT+ Adoption & Fostering Week this year will run from 1-7 March 2021 and the theme is Build Your Family.
In England in 2020, 1 in 6 adoptions were to same sex couples. During LGBTQ+ Adoption & Fostering Week we are hoping to encourage more people from the LGBTQ+ community to step forward and ‘Build Your Family’ through adoption.
Andrew and his husband adopted a little boy over 2 years ago and we are thrilled that he has agreed to come along to talk to you about his experiences at March’s ‘An Audience with an Adopter’ event. He will be available to answer your questions about his experiences before, during and after the adoption process and the support he received both pre and post placement of his son.
Andrew did a lot of research into adoption and so had a good idea of what was involved. He was also aware that the misconceptions surrounding same sex couples and adoption were unfounded. Andrew also recognises that this isn’t generally understood and so has agreed to help Caritas Care to make sure that other same sex couples have the same chances and opportunities to build a family through adoption, just like he has.
We are looking for families to provide children with loving and stable homes. Our main focus is your ability to parent through adoption; it’s the stability of your relationship that is important.
That is what matters, not your sexual orientation.
If you are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender and have been considering adoption, don’t miss out on this one off event!
